If you have been closely following the MLB offseason, then you probably know that the name “Carlos Correa” has been written, read, said, and heard a million times.

He is famous for being the guy who agreed to three different contracts worth a total of $865 million.

The San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets, however, backed down from $300+ million contracts with him because of concerns about the player’s ankle.

That opened the door for the Minnesota Twins to sign him for “just” $200 million, way below market value.

The Twins had him last season and liked what they saw, from his ability to hit for average, to get on base, and for his excellent defense.

The start of 2023 has been focused on Correa, for better or for worse.

That’s why Twins insider Dan Hayes joked about the star infielder in his latest tweet.

“Pitchers, catchers and Carlos Correa report on Feb. 14,” he tweeted.

He is in a tier of his own, it seems.

He is not a pitcher or a catcher, but it’s sure funny to see him listed in a completely different group.

Correa will try to prove that concerns surrounding his ankle are not legitimate.

He said he hasn’t felt pain on it since having the surgery, but will have to show it on the field.

A good, healthy season would go a long way.

With Correa on the roster, the Twins are much more dangerous.

They are actually a threat to win the AL Central division, but they need to work hard to beat the Cleveland Guardians.

Having Correa gives them a nice floor.
