The Nets Wait For A Kevin Durant Update

The Brooklyn Nets were able to pull off yet another win on Sunday night, taking down the Miami Heat in a close 102-101 victory.
However, they lost their biggest asset during the game and now the whole NBA world is waiting to hear how long he will be gone.
During the third quarter, Heat guard Jimmy Butler landed on Kevin Durant‘s knee after falling during an attempted layup.
Right after that, Durant grabbed his knee and it was clear that he was hurt.
He limped off the floor for the locker room and the Nets eventually announced that he was out for the rest of the game.

Fans of the Nets were immediately terrified about this incident and what it could mean for the team.
Around this time last season, Durant suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee and didn’t play for five weeks after.
The Nets went 5-16 without him and had an 11-game losing streak.
Head coach Jacque Vaughn said that Durant will have an MRI on Monday and more information about his status and his return to the floor will be known after that.
The Nets have been on a tear lately, becoming one of the best teams in the league over the last 20 games.
Obviously, Durant has been a major part of that and has averaged 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists a game.
The Nets are currently the second-best team in the East with 27-13, right behind the Celtics who have a 28-12 record.
If Durant is out for a stretch of time, will the team be able to compete without him and stay in fighting form?
Or will the absence of Durant doom them just like it did last season?
