The Philadelphia Eagles finished the 2022 season with an MVP candidate in Jalen Hurts and the top spot in the NFC with a 14-3 record.

Head coach Nick Sirianni has worked wonders in Philadelphia, and it helps when your general manager makes some star-studded moves, including acquiring WR A.J. Brown this offseason in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.

As the Eagles push for another deep playoff run, there is a long list of positives from the 2022 season on both offense and defense.

As a tweet from Glen Macnow states: “Positive story lines of Eagles season: 1) Hurts’ amazing growth 2) 70 sacks, 4 D linemen w/ 10+ 3) Brown, Smith set receiving records 4) Howie’s amazing off-season 5) Defense finishes 2nd in NFL.”

The offense was a juggernaut, and the WR duo of DeVonta Smith and Brown was one of the best in the NFL and both of them went over the 1,000-yard mark.

Hurts is entrenched in the MVP conversation and returned in Week 18 after missing a couple of games with an injury.

But the defense in Philadelphia has been fantastic all season long.

Brandon Graham (11), Javon Hargrave (11), Haason Reddick (16), and Josh Sweat (11) all finished with 10 or more sacks and Fletcher Cox added another seven sacks on the season.

All of those statistics have the Eagles as a strong favorite in the NFC playoffs, and they have the weekend off as they prepare for a home game in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

General manager Howie Roseman put a loaded roster together, and the Eagles exceeded expectations in 2022 — although a deep playoff run is what is on their minds right now.
