The Dodgers Have Reached Elite Status In Recent Years

As spring training approaches, baseball fans anxiously await the day when pitchers and catchers officially report to camp.

For some teams, that day is in exactly two weeks.

After Super Bowl Sunday, the focus will shift from football to baseball.

And in recent years, a few teams have been quite dominant, particularly the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Last season, the Dodgers won 111 games, which was the most by any team in all of baseball.

In fact, since 2019, no team has a better winning percentage than the Dodgers.

Their .670 mark over that time amounts to a combined record of 366-180, which is 29 games better than the Houston Astros, who are the closest to the Dodgers in that category.

Los Angeles has had a relatively quiet offseason, but they have a strong nucleus of players that have helped them sustain their run of success.

The team went to back-to-back World Series in 2017 and 2018.

Though they lost both times, it was the dawn of a new era in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers were once again one of the elite teams in all of baseball.

They won 106 games in 2019 and secured the best record in the National League.

After losing to the Washington Nationals in the NLDS, the team bounced back in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, winning their first World Series title since 1988.

They then won the most regular season games of any Wild Card team in the history of baseball and made another deep run into October.

Since then, the Dodgers have not slowed down, and look prepared to do more damage in 2023.
