The Chicago Bulls were one of the best teams in the NBA last season – at least for a while.

They sat towards the top of the Eastern Conference for some time and it looked like they were on their way to a deep playoff run and possibly the NBA Finals.

But that didn’t end up happening: the rest of the teams in the East caught up with the Bulls and a string of stinging injuries also slowed them down.

In the end, they didn’t really stand a chance to make the Finals.

The hope was that they could stay healthy in the 2022-23 season and redeem themselves.

That might still happen but the team just got some tough news.

Lonzo Ball will have to undergo an arthroscopic debridement of his left knee next week.

He will be re-evaluated again in 4 to 6 weeks, which means he will likely miss at least the beginning of the new season.

The Bulls can survive without Ball but they desperately want him back.

The Power Of Lonzo

Ball was having one of his best seasons last year before he got hurt and missed half of the season with the Bulls.

He averaged 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists a game.

But he was also a great playmaker and facilitator to the rest of the guys on the team.

In other words, he has become an important part of Chicago’s lineup and has been playing some smart, impressive basketball.

The fear is that Ball’s injury will not heal in time for the new season and he will miss even more time.

There is another fear too: Ball’s injury could be the first of many for the Bulls, who have problems staying healthy.
