Jordan Poole has played for the Golden State Warriors for three seasons now and has gotten progressively better each and every year.

It all culminated in the 2021-22 season when Poole was putting up 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4 assists on his way to claiming his first championship ring with the Warriors.

Poole has been so good, in fact, that some have said he should be a permanent part of the team’s starting lineup.

Others have said he still has room for improvement.

Head coach Steve Kerr believes that, while Poole is fantastic, he does have the ability to get even better.

“I don’t know that he can do anything more to step up offensively,” Kerr said about Poole.

“So the area where he can still improve is at the defensive end,” Kerr added.

Does this mean we are about to see new and improved defense from Poole?

The Poole Party Continues

Poole has shown himself to be a great, fast, driven shooter who can make his way into the paint or take shots from the perimeter.

This is both good and bad news for Poole.

It’s good news because that skill set is one that thrives in the NBA but it’s also bad because he’s playing alongside two of the best shooters in the history of the league: Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

That means that Poole is very good at something the team is already dominant at.

He can increase his value with the squad by stepping up his defensive game, as Kerr suggests.

Surely, this is what Poole has been working on during the summer.

When the new season starts next month, don’t be surprised if you see Poole guarding men harder and fighting for rebounds more.
