Patrick Mahomes Did Just Fine Without A Former Star Teammate

Did nobody tell Patrick Mahomes that he was supposed to regress once Tyreek Hill left the team?
In a dramatic offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins, prompting many members of the NFL media to question Mahomes and the potential success he would have this season.
It turns out, he didn’t need Hill after all.
Patrick Mahomes lost Tyreek Hill in the offseason and put up 5,608 yards of offense and 45 touchdowns.

Even though he lost Hill, who is one of the most prolific and fastest players in the league, Mahomes was still able to throw for 45 touchdowns, and combine for 5,608 combined rushing and passing yards.
Mahomes is leading the league in passing yards, touchdowns, and first downs.
Although Hill was certainly a huge playmaker on offense, Mahomes was able to make do with what he had at his disposal and has finished the regular season putting up MVP-level numbers.
The Chiefs had four players that were targeted over 70 times.
Mahomes’ magic was enough this season to lead the Chiefs to the number one overall seed in the playoffs, granting them a first-round bye, and will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
They will play the lowest remaining seed after Wild Card Weekend.
The AFC is loaded with talent, including teams like the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens.
Will Mahomes and the Chiefs continue to assert their dominance over the AFC?
Or, will another team emerge and represent the AFC in the Super Bowl?
No matter the result, it appears that we are in for some incredible football over the next several weeks.
