The Denver Broncos are in desperate need of a new head coach after firing Nathaniel Hackett mid-season.

They have already been conducting interviews, though one NFL pundit believes the search should come down to three individuals.

While making an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday, Tom Pelissero highlighted Sean Payton, Jim Harbaugh, or Dan Quinn as his picks for the next coach of the Broncos.

Harbaugh has been closely linked to the Broncos over the past several weeks, and the team interviewed him on Monday of this week.

Joining the Broncos would mean that Harbaugh would leave the University of Michigan football team, a program that he has built up to great heights in the past few years.

However, Harbaugh’s combination of NFL and NCAA head coaching experience makes him an excellent candidate to lead the Broncos.

The same can be said about Payton, who was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints for 15 seasons.

Payton has been largely attributed to the success of Drew Brees, and led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory in 2009, although that championship has been since marred with controversy.

Similar to Harbaugh, Payton’s NFL experience is tangible and would be an excellent option to lead the Broncos.

Quinn is a different story.

Although he has been in the league for over 20 years, he only has six years of head coaching experience.

Of the three options, Quinn’s lack of experience might leave him as second-fiddle to Payton and Harbaugh in the Broncos’ search for their next head coach.
