For the last few months, we have been hearing a lot about the Brooklyn Nets but not a lot of it has been good.

We have heard of the team’s dysfunction, the anger and unhappiness of its lead stars, and the way that the coaching staff and the players don’t see eye to eye.

Yes, the Nets have given us some ample NBA drama during the offseason.

Yet, there is more drama on the way.

As Cody Mallory points out, the Nets have a lot to prove in the upcoming 2022-23 season.

There were numerous teams throughout the league that wanted Kevin Durant but they weren’t willing to trade away younger, unproven stars for him.

Meanwhile, other teams weren’t going to give a max contract for prickly star Kyrie Irving.

Ben Simmons, on the other hand, has become a punchline for many, Joe Harris is considered washed up by some, and T.J. Warren is still recovering from an injury.

There are multiple storylines revolving around the Nets right now but they all have this in common: quite a few NBA fans have given up hope in the team.

Will they prove those people wrong?

Nets Needing It

The Nets will once again have Durant, Irving, Simmons, and a few other stars when the new season starts.

The only thing they’ll need is a string of impressive victories.

The team really needs to deliver in the 2022-23 season.

The Durant-Irving era has been going on for a few years now and it hasn’t resulted in the sort of success that was promised to fans.

It’s time for the Nets to put up or shut up and the fans are expecting the very best, especially after all of the drama they endured over the last few months.
