MLB Fan Remembers A Classic Nolan Ryan Moment
Today is MLB legend and Hall-of-Famer Nolan Ryan‘s 76th birthday.
One of the most feared pitchers of his era, Ryan pitched 27 seasons in the big leagues with the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers.
He won two ERA titles, earned eight All-Star selections, and won a World Series ring with the Mets in 1969.
His career was full of defining moments, but perhaps no moment summed up his competitive fire and toughness than the brawl that took place between him and Robin Ventura in 1993.
Ryan, then 46, hit Ventura with a fastball, who subsequently charged the mound, but instantly regretted it, as he came to realize that Ryan had come prepared to fight.
On Twitter, a fan posted a video of this classic moment.

If there’s one thing that Ryan made clear that night, it was that nobody messes with him and gets away with it.
Clearly, Ventura learned that the hard way, and ultimately paid the price for trying to challenge him to a fight.
Ryan quickly put up his dukes and put Ventura in his place.
This was ultimately one of the more entertaining moments in Ryan’s legendary career.
Sometimes, fans love a good fight, and this was a good old-fashioned brawl between two MLB superstars.
But it’s safe to say that Ryan won this encounter.
What made it even more entertaining is that it took place during the veteran right-hander’s last season in baseball, but he looked great and took it straight to Ventura.
