Recently, the Top 10 players at each position were counted down by MLB Now.

The list of third basemen was the center of a lot of controversy, as St. Louis Cardinals slugger and MVP candidate Nolan Arenado was ranked at No. 5 on the list.

Several fans and analysts alike have questioned the list and believe that certain players, such as Arenado, should be ranked much higher.

Today, MLB Network’s Alanna Rizzo stopped by High Heat with Christopher Russo to discuss her take on who the Top 5 third basemen in all of baseball are.

She revealed her list in the video shown in the tweet below.

At No. 5, Rizzo had Alex Bregman.

The Houston Astros third baseman had yet another solid season at the plate.

In 155 games, the 28-year-old hit .259 with 23 home runs and 93 RBI and had an OPS of .820.

Fourth on the list was Rafael Devers, who the Boston Red Sox recently locked up on an 11-year, $331 million contract extension.

Rizzo credited Devers for being able to produce the way he did amidst a very difficult season for the Red Sox.

Manny Machado followed at No. 3.

Machado, who could opt out of his contract at the end of the 2023 season, was second behind Paul Goldschmidt in the voting for the National League MVP Award.

The top two on Rizzo’s list were Arenado and Jose Ramirez, with Ramirez claiming the top spot.

The Cleveland Guardians recently locked him up on a five-year extension.

So while some fans may feel Arenado and others were snubbed, Rizzo at least provided a little bit of clarity as to who she believes the top third basemen in the game are.
