The 2021 draft class of quarterbacks had a rough season in 2022.

For Mac Jones, it was no different.

The New England Patriots quarterback had a rough start to the season.

His year saw him making plenty of mistakes, while also seeing him miss games with an ankle injury.

At one point, Jones’ performance was so bad that Bill Belichick replaced him with third-string quarterback Bailey Zappe.

However, the former Alabama quarterback got his starting job back the next game.

But it didn’t address the issue at hand, which was the horrible offensive coaching by Matt Patricia.

While Patricia has a defensive mindset, the team had him as their offensive coach in 2022.

With Jones needing a better offensive coordinator, the team has finally granted him his wish.

The return of Bill O’Brien gives him a coach who will push the young quarterback to his limits.

The young quarterback seemingly wants someone like O’Brien coaching him.

His history with the Patriots saw him working with Tom Brady from 2009 to 2011.

With experience coaching the greatest quarterback of all-time, the young Patriots star knows he’s in excellent hands.

To be coached by someone who was a part of helping Brady has to excite Jones.

It also can help the young quarterback to turn around his forgettable 2022 season.

While fans must wait to see how the two work out, there’s plenty of excitement over the hiring.

All eyes will be on Jones, as he attempts to have a breakout season in 2023.
