Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks is currently playing the best basketball of his career and is in the running to win his first MVP trophy.

The Slovenian superstar is averaging a jaw-dropping 34.3 points, 9 rebounds, and 8.8 assists a game, on 50.1% from the field.

Those are incredible numbers made only more amazing when you see him in action on the court.

Doncic is playing like a tuned-in, hard-nosed, driven athlete who is intent on defeating anyone.

Despite his record-breaking success, Doncic’s team has still had its fair share of ups and downs.

The team is currently 5th in the West with a 24-19 record.

That is better than how they were doing earlier in the season but it’s still far from what is needed if they want to make it to the Western Conference Finals again – or beyond.

This has led to fans of the team creating a mural that shows Doncic and his amazing recent stat lines with a simple plea: “Please send help.”

Doncic Doing It Alone

This has been a problem for the Mavericks for a few years now: as great as Doncic is, there are far too many occasions when it feels like he is a man playing by himself.

Head coach Jason Kidd has worked very hard to get Doncic help, most notably from players like Tim Hardaway Jr. and Christian Wood.

Still, there are nights when Doncic is more than doubling the output from the second-best scorer on the team.

Dallas still hasn’t won a single game without Doncic, showing just how severe this issue is.

What happens if Doncic has to miss a few weeks – or more – due to injury?

That is the worst nightmare for Mavericks fans, who fear they could lose it all if they lose Doncic.
