One of the most impressive NBA teams last season ended up being the Memphis Grizzlies.

While it is true that they didn’t make it all the way to the Finals as some predicted, they had a stellar regular season and put themselves on the map.

They are now seen as a very talented team that is young, wildly fun to watch, and also stacked with a deep bench too.

Oh, and they also have Ja Morant who is unquestionably one of the most exciting stars in the league.

The Grizz know just how special Morant is and that’s why they signed him to a five-year contract extension worth $231 million on Thursday night.

Following the news of his extension, he went to Twitter to tell his fans how much the city means to him.

“Memphis is my home,” Morant said online, which is a sentiment that warms the heart of all fans of the Grizzlies.

Now the question is how Morant and his team will make Memphis proud next season.

Most Improved Morant

Morant won last season’s Most Improved Player award and averaged 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.

While he gets the most attention and is oftentimes the central piece of the team’s offense, there is more to the Grizzlies than just Morant.

Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, and Jaren Jackson Jr. are just some of the stellar players who play alongside Morant every night.

They will all be back in the new season, including guard Tyus Jones, who signed a two-year, $30 million deal with Memphis on Thursday night.

Unfortunately, Morant and his team will start next season without Jackson, who will be rehabbing from injury and surgery until about December.

Even without Jackson, the team has a chance to find even more success in the 2022-23 season.
