Hunter Greene Recalls His Journey To Reach The Majors

This weekend at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Arizona, the MLB DREAM Series will take place.

It is a showcase event focused on the dynamics of pitching and catching for a diverse group of high school elite athletes, predominantly African-American, from across the country during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.

This event is operated by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball.

It was established back in 2017.

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene was one of the first players to take part in this event.

On Friday, the young fireballer stopped by MLB Network to talk about his experience pitching in the DREAM Series and how it helped him on his way to the majors.

Greene talked about the lessons he learned while taking part in the DREAM Series.

The 23-year-old mentioned how he learned to be a professional and what to expect when playing baseball.

“I call it being a Major League citizen,” Greene said, “carrying yourself the right way, being a professional, and understanding what’s expected.”

This is a great chance for young athletes to learn about the game of baseball and is also a great way to grow the game and expand its reach.

Greene clearly learned some very valuable lessons when he took part in the DREAM Series and had nothing but good things to say about this event.

The young right-hander of course took part in the event at the age of 17 when it was first founded six years ago.

Greene’s experience was certainly valuable and played a big role in him reaching the majors.
