Washington Nationals slugger Juan Soto has shown time and time again he has a great sense of humor.

He is often described as a joy to play with by teammates, and he has earned the respect from rivals because of his obvious hitting talents.

But he is also very, very fun.

On Friday, he was seen battling the summer heat with a brief “shower” on the infield, courtesy of the Nats’ grounds crew.

He was running around the infield and felt the need of a cooling break.

Summer is starting to hit, so we can’t really blame Soto.

After all, he was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, a country in which temperatures are usually high.

He was probably just playing around, but we are sure he appreciates the grounds crew efforts to keep him fresh.

A Difficult Season So Far For The Talented Hitter

On the field, Soto is not having his best season.

He is slashing .224/.372/.447 with 13 home runs, 36 runs, and 28 RBI.

We are used to seeing Soto with much higher batting averages.

For his career, he is slashing .291/.424/.537.

His extraordinary eye at the plate makes him an above-average hitter nonetheless, but the average and some of the power are still missing.

He has a problem, though: the Nationals are one of the worst teams in baseball, and opposing pitchers prefer to pitch around him to avoid the risk of allowing runs.

He has been battling this all season long on an uncompetitive Nationals squad.

He is too talented for his average to remain in the .220s for long, but unlike last season, he doesn’t seem poised to fight for the National League MVP award this time.

He is just 23, though, so don’t rule him out for the future.
