Have The Yankees Done Enough This Offseason?

Spring Training is just over a month away and the New York Yankees have already spent a lot of money this offseason.

However, is it enough?

The team is coming off yet another disappointing end to a season, losing to the Houston Astros again in the ALCS.

Now, there is a heightened sense of urgency for the team to return to the World Series.

They were able to retain star outfielder Aaron Judge and first baseman Anthony Rizzo, along with signing pitcher Carlos Rodon.

Still, the moves left fans asking for just a bit more.

Currently, there is a significant hole in left field.

While some names like Bryan Reynolds and Max Kepler have been floated around to fill that spot, no move has been made.

On top of that, the Yankees are heading into 2023 without any star power at shortstop.

While they seem content with having Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Oswald Peraza man the spot, some fans wanted to sign a player like Trea Turner.

The Yankees’ front office seems confident in the roster that they have already constructed, but have they caught the Astros?

That has been the one hump the team has been unable to get over since 2017.

The Astros themselves had a good offseason, signing first baseman Jose Abreu.

Their talent is unquestioned, but the Yankees are closer than many may think.

While they have come up short recently, the Yankees have put together one of the strongest rotations in all of baseball.

Their lineup remains the same now, but that is likely to change before Opening Day.

They are one final move away, then their roster will finally be able to go toe-to-toe with the Astros in 2023.
