There were several speculations behind the return of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

First, his initial retirement announcement could have been a spur-of-the-moment decision after losing to eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.

Losing such a big game might have taken such an emotional toll on him that he couldn’t see himself playing again.

But after 40 days, he might have thought things over again and decided to come back.

Second, Bruce Arians’ resignation as Tampa Bay head coach was potentially a condition for Brady’s return.

There were reports that the relationship between Brady and Arians soured because he allegedly undermined the game plan built by the seven-time Super Bowl winner and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

Yet to this day, Brady continues to preach their good relationship and it will continue that way as Arians move to the front office.

However, the real reason for Brady’s retirement might have nothing to do with football.

The NFL on CBS shared a comical tweet that stated that Brady unretired to chase the world championships of competitive eater Joey Chestnut.

Unfortunately, the gap between Brady and Chestnut widened after the legend won his 15th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest title.

His 63 hot dogs were way less than his previous mark of 76 but he could have gobbled more if not for a distraction.

Despite the quick stop, he still won the competition convincingly.

Brady Has A Long Way To Go

With Brady, the impossible can happen.

However, it’s too unrealistic to see him win eight more Super Bowl titles.

After all, the 2022 season could be his final year in football because he hasn’t signed an extension.

But as Chestnut wolfs down each hot dog with ease, Brady will devour the opposition in his 23rd NFL season.
