The Carolina Panthers have found what they hope is their coach of the future.

After being fired by the Indianapolis Colts during the season, it did not take long for Frank Reich to find a new job.

He is seen as one of the best offensive minds in the league, and someone that can help turn the Panthers’ offense around.

But, Reich will also have a tough decision in who to hire as his defensive coordinator.

Luckily, there are a few good options available to him.

The one name Reich is closing in on is former Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio.

Fangio has always been a great defensive coordinator.

At each of his last three coaching jobs, Fangio had a top-five defense in the NFL.

Carolina already has a few good pieces in place on their defense.

The likes of Brian Burns, Jaycee Horn, and Derrick Brown are all impact players.

They just need the right coach leading the way.

If Reich can indeed bring in Fangio, that would be an awesome hire.

Playing in the NFC South, it will not take much for the Panthers to compete next season.

Tampa Bay won the division this past year with an 8-9 record, and they might be losing Tom Brady.

If the Panthers can find some type of consistent quarterback play, they have a chance to be a playoff team next season.

Reich and Fangio are two experienced coaches that the Panthers need to turn their fortune around.

Even though they have a long offseason ahead of them, building a good coaching staff is the best place to start.
