The name ‘Smush Parker‘ could give Los Angeles Lakers fans PTSD.

The combo guard spent a couple of seasons with the team, constantly feuding with Kobe Bryant and not doing all that much to help their winning cause.

Kobe constantly ripped Parker, both publically and in private, going as far as to say that Steve Nash beat him for MVP because he was stuck with Smush:

“I tell Steve [Nash], you won MVP but I was playing with Smush Parker,” Kobe said in 2012. “He’s playing with [Leandro] Barbosa. I’m playing with Smush and Kwame [Brown]. My goodness. Smush Parker was the worst. He shouldn’t have been in the NBA, but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard. We let him walk on.”

Parker constantly hit back at Kobe, but the Black Mamba was often unfazed, stating that he was only giving him his 30 minutes of fame:

“I wish him the best of luck. He’s playing China right now, right? I wish him the best of luck. Maybe he can get back to the NBA one day, see what it’s like up-close again,” Kobe said.

Well, he’s right on track to fulfill that prophecy, as the infamous guard is reportedly trying to become an NBA referee.

Needless to say, that prompted plenty of reactions on social media, with fans joking that he would go from being yelled at by Kobe to being yelled at by the whole league.

All jokes aside, let’s hope that Smush can raise the bar when it comes to these officials, as they have left a lot to be desired this season.
