He might not be putting up the same numbers that he once did but Dwight Howard still showed some skill as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The big man is currently a free agent and might be switching to a new team during the offseason but he may also be coming back to LA.

If that doesn’t work out, he has other career options in mind too.

Howard says that he wants to play in the NBA next season but he is also ready to “transition” and join the WWE to begin his career as a wrestler.

He also noted that he started his time in the NBA in Orlando, Florida, and is ready to start training and wrestling at the WWE Performance Center in the same city.

It’s obvious that Howard still has his heart set on the NBA but he seems pretty serious about trying his hand at wrestling when he hangs up his basketball jersey.

Howard In The Ring

This isn’t the first time that Howard has shown his love and expertise about all things wrestling.

In fact, the NBA champ has appeared on programs about the WWE and has been all over their social media channels lately.

In the last season, Howard put up 6.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and .6 assists, which is a very far cry from his career average of 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

Obviously, after 18 years, Howard isn’t the player he once was.

That means that thinking ahead about the next part of his life and career is a smart idea.

But would he really transition from the very physical game of basketball to the very physical sport of wrestling?

That’s not the best way for an athlete to go easy on his body after years of wearing it out.

Perhaps Howard’s real future is in commentating about wrestling, not actually participating in it.
