Dejounte Murray Is Still Flying High For The Hawks

While it is true that the Atlanta Hawks have not had the season they desired, no one can deny that they were part of an amazing acquisition in the summer.
When Dejounte Murray joined the Hawks in the offseason, many analysts said that his move to Atlanta could greatly improve the team’s chances and radically change the Eastern Conference.
True, the Hawks are still the eighth team in the East but Murray has certainly been doing amazing work.

During Monday night’s loss against the Portland Trail Blazers, Murray scored 40 points (a career-high), 8 rebounds, and 7 assists, with 0 turnovers.
He was 5-of-7 from the three-point line and scored every single one of his free throws.
Murray led his team easily – the second-best scorer for the team was Bogdan Bogdanovic with 23.
He played with speed, enthusiasm, power, and smarts.
That’s what he’s been doing all season long.
For 2022-23, Murray has averaged 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
He has slid into place alongside the rest of the roster with ease.
In fact, he is doing so well that some people are starting to contemplate a future in which Murray is running the team.
The Hawks still belong to Trae Young but there has been growing speculation about him leaving the team within the next few seasons if they don’t achieve more success.
If that were to happen, there is no doubt that the team would then be Murray’s.
And if he keeps playing as he has been, that would be a wise choice by the team’s front office.
It remains to be seen if the Hawks can turn this season around and climb higher in the East.
But everyone expects Murray to keep performing like an All-Star.
