The Cleveland Browns ultimately chose David Njoku over Austin Hooper.

They went with the upside of the former Miami standout and dealt Hooper to the Tennessee Titans.

Njoku was a solid contributor last season with 475 yards and four touchdowns.

But now that he becomes the team’s starting tight end, they expect him to have a breakout season.

The Browns are betting that he will be a bright spot for the squad by giving him a four-year, $56.75 million contract extension.

That deal includes $28 million in guaranteed money with $11.4 million of it as his signing bonus.

After getting paid, Njoku isn’t resting on his laurels.

Instead, he is pushing himself to become the best version of himself.

That’s why he is doing this unbelievable exercise which requires him to concentrate on the task while maintaining his balance.

The NFL’s official Twitter account isn’t sure how Njoku is easily doing this drill.

Imagine balancing on one foot on a moving platform while his arms are strapped onto weights.

While that’s happening, he has to catch balls from his trainer.

It is a tough test for hand-eye coordination while strengthening his core.

Njoku A Central Figure In the Improved Browns

That exercise may help him become a key figure in both the Browns’ pass and run games.

Njoku will have to throw solid blocks for Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, and D’Ernest Johnson.

Likewise, he will also be a target in the passing game like Donovan Peoples-Jones and Amari Cooper.

He will have to level up his game, especially if Deshaun Watson will be able to suit up for the Browns.

With him behind center and a gritty defensive unit shutting down opponents, the Browns have what it takes to make a postseason return.
