There were rumors that Bradley Beal would leave the Washington Wizards during this current offseason.

Some people assumed he would finally leave the Wiz and sign with a different team, perhaps the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, or Dallas Mavericks.

But in the end, Beal stuck with the only NBA team he’s ever known and showed that he really does believe his squad is something special.

Speaking of his Wizards, Beal recently poured his heart out about what a Finals victory would feel like:

“I feel like if I win a championship here in DC, the grind of it, with everything I’ve been through, all the adversity and ups and downs, that would make a win that much sweeter, make me appreciate it that much more.”

A championship ring would be a huge, huge deal for Beal and Washington but most people think they are still a few steps away from that being a true possibility.

Winning In Washington

Beal has definitely stayed loyal to his team but it’s never had the sort of stars around him that are needed for true postseason success.

The team got off to a hot start last season, with new additions Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope giving Beal a huge assist.

But then things went off the rails and the Wiz missed the playoffs again.

It is obvious that more changes and tweaks in the lineup are needed.

Beal is definitely the centerpiece of the team and the most beloved player in DC but he needs more guys on his side if the team wants to make an impact on the Eastern Conference.
