Albert Pujols Is Heating Up In His Pursuit Of History

We’re now closing in on the final month of the 2022 regular season, with the postseason on the horizon once again, and a certain somebody for the St. Louis Cardinals is heating up one last time before his career ends.
Albert Pujols was off to a rough start in 2022 and was hitting .189 as late as July 6.
Since then, he’s turned back the clock and given everybody a nice little flashback to his prime.
He’s been hitting home runs again and has been on fire in the month of August.
In his last five games, Pujols has gone 9-for-16 with five homers and 11 RBI, while slashing .563/.611/.1500.

One Last Ride
Pujols has turned it on one last time as he prepares to make a final push towards the postseason and win another ring with the Cards.
Not only has he hit five home runs in his last five games, but he’s also closing in on 700 career home runs.
Back in early July, the thought of him reaching 700 seemed like a reach.
But on Saturday night in Arizona, The Machine blasted home runs No. 691 and 692, and we still have more than a month to go before the season reaches its end, which is another way of saying that Pujols has plenty of time to reach 700 home runs.
He’s heated up at just the right time as he looks to chase down that milestone.
More than anything though, Pujols wants to win one last ring with Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina before it’s all said and done.
With him hitting the way he’s been hitting, the Cardinals look dangerous and are a serious threat to win World Series title No. 12 when October comes around.
