If recent games and Aaron Judge‘s remarks are any indication, it appears the New York Yankees are back.

July (13-13) and August (7-14) have been rough months for the Bombers after a historically great first half of the season.

The team is still 12-20 after the All-Star break, but the good news is that they have won three games in a row against top-notch competition: one versus the Toronto Blue Jays, and two against the New York Mets.

Judge, speaking with Marly Rivera of ESPN, talked about the swagger of a winning team.

“Aaron Judge on getting the #Yankees “swagger” back: ‘It’s tough to have that little bit swagger when you keep losing games or dropping series or not playing your brand of baseball. But I think the swagger has always been there, it just took a little reminder of who we are,’” Judge said, according to Rivera.

The Yankees Remembered They Are A Top-Tier Team

The Yanks, indeed, lost lots of games in recent weeks, and players themselves probably questioned why they kept dropping important contests after winning so much in April, May, and June.

But talent prevails sooner or later and when it’s coupled with discipline, hard work, and a little reminder from a leader or a prominent figure, the wins will eventually start coming.

Despite their recent struggles (prior to the ongoing three-game winning streak), the Yankees still have an eight-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the standings.

That speaks about how dominant the team is when it’s on.

Once they get healthier and they remember they are one of the top teams in baseball, the Yankees will return to being an elite team in MLB.

They are on their way there, but things are definitely looking up.
