A Nuggets Rising Star May Be On The Move

The Denver Nuggets are currently the best team in the NBA Western Conference with a 34-15 record.
They have finally been having the season that fans have wanted for years now, powered by the elite skill of Nikola Jokic and others.
That is why it’s a bit surprising to hear that they could be open to a big roster change.

Shams Charania is reporting that the Nuggets are “in active trade conversations around Bones Hyland.”
Now in his second season, the fiery guard is averaging 12.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3 assists in 19 minutes a game.
The reporting goes on to state that the Minnesota Timberwolves are most interested in Hyland and that they are imagining a swap that perhaps includes D’Angelo Russell for Hyland and more.
It’s not surprising to hear that the T-Wolves are trying to deal away Russell – that has been the case for months now.
But it is a bit interesting to see that the Nuggets would entertain losing Hyland when the team is thriving so much.
Why wouldn’t they just sit tight and ride out the season with Hyland, who provides a much-needed boost off of the bench and plays with personality, energy, and drive?
Because the Timberwolves might be willing to sign a favorable deal for the Nuggets.
Their season hasn’t been going as they wanted and they are desperate to make some changes, including the departure of Russell.
The team wants to give Anthony Edwards more control of the ball and more dominance on the court.
Signing Hyland would allow that to happen.
If a deal for Hyland comes together with the Timberwolves or any other team, it’ll happen soon since the NBA trade deadline is getting closer and closer.
