The last few weeks have been very eventful in the NBA with multiple teams rising and falling and many stars quite literally setting records.

Choosing just two players to be the best in the league for a single week is a very tough task but the NBA does it regularly.

This week, the two All-Stars named Players of the Week for their conferences are men who are surging strongly and hitting enormous highs.

Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is the Western Conference Player of the Week while Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

For the last week, Lillard averaged an astonishing 42.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.3 assists with a 59.6% field goal percentage and 48.9% from the three-point line.

As for Antetokounmpo, he has put up 29.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.

During the week, the Blazers have had a nice little run, winning three of their last four, while the Bucks have now gone on a four-game winning streak.

However, they both have very different chances when it comes to postseason success.

Even with Lillard’s powerful output, the Blazers are still 12th in the West.

The Bucks are doing far better than that and are in second in the East, only a few games behind the Boston Celtics.

Choosing these weekly awards is not about selecting the player who has the best chance at making the Finals.

Instead, it is a snapshot of who is performing well in their conference.

There is no doubt that Lillard and Antetokounmpo have been playing some of the best basketball of the season within this last week.

Now it is time to see if they can both keep it up.
