2 Left Field Upgrade Options For The Yankees
The New York Yankees are entering the 2023 season as one of the favorites to win the World Series.
However, with a little over a month of the offseason still left, the team may not be done making moves.
They have space in their outfield for one final piece.
Here are two players that could be upgrade options in left field for the Yankees.
2. Anthony Santander
The Yankees need an outfielder and the Baltimore Orioles need pitching.
While it is rare to see intra-division trades, Anthony Santander could be a perfect candidate to be moved.
The switch hitter slugged 33 home runs last season, while also posting a .240 average.

While he isn’t the best option available, he would likely be much cheaper than someone like Bryan Reynolds.
Santander would also benefit from Yankee Stadium’s right field porch.
The Yankees don’t necessarily have much pitching in their minor league system, but they do have arms like Clarke Schmidt and Luis Gil who are MLB level talents that are blocked on their roster.
The Orioles would likely consider this move, and it would be smart for the Yankees to as well.
1. Max Kepler
After the Minnesota Twins signed Joey Gallo, attention shifted toward Max Kepler.
The team has a full outfield, and will likely be looking to ship Kepler out of town.
On paper, the Yankees might be a perfect fit.
Kepler has struggled in recent seasons, posting low average and power numbers compared to earlier in his career.

However, a shift in scenery could help the left-handed hitter.
Yankee Stadium is notoriously friendly for lefties, as the short porch would likely help Kepler’s power numbers.
Kepler’s bat may not seem appealing on paper, but there is reason that he could experience a resurgence in New York.
