The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Steve Caporizzo:

It’s going to be an absolutely wild weather ride over the next 24 hours for us-so many fast paced changes….

Here is what to expect with the 3 Part Storm.

If you have travel plans….be careful….

Snow/Mixed Precip tonight

High winds/Rain milder temps late tonight/first half of Friday…then the Arctic Blast Friday afternoon and night. VERY cold for the Christmas Weekend.

High Winds will be a Big issue….

OK Folks….this is Part 1 of the Storm….First round of Moisture….

Part 2 will be the Arctic Front by early afternoon on Friday….

Part 3 will be Friday night/Saturday-with frigid air moving in along with sub zero wind chills.

Here are the Latest Surface Maps.

Winds will increase after midnight….and be STRONG from the SSE through Friday Morning.

High wind Warnings and Wind Advisories are in effect.

Wind will gust over 40mph for the Capital Region….and reach 50-60mph in the Higher Elevations. The potential of power outages.

Flood Watch Posted-A combination of heavier rain…with very mild temps and melting snow.

Some rivers/streams will be on the rise…mainly during Friday.

Winter Weather Advisory for some snow tonight-higher spots of the Adirondacks and Vermont will get as much as 3-6″

FUTURECAST…….

Snow-then rain….and increasing winds later tonight.

After the Arctic Front moves through tomorrow-rapidly falling temps from the low 50s into the 20s.

Watch for a FLASH Freeze….anything wet will freeze up quickly and likely getting icy. Be Careful.

TONIGHT: Snow/Mix changing to rain from south to North….

FRIDAY: Rainy/Mild and windy in the AM….the the Arctic air moves in for the afternoon-quick burst of snow. Temps will be in the low 50s…falling into the 20s. Everything will freeze.

At 9am Friday….VERY Mild

by 6pm….The Cold air rushes in…a 30 degree temp drop possible.

Winds Chills by 8am Saturday 10-15 Below Zero !

It’s Going to be a COLD Christmas Weekend for sure.

Here are the High Temps for Saturday and Christmas. Keep in mind it will be windy-so wind chills at times will be below zero. At least it looks dry if you are traveling.

Pretty Wild Weather for the next 24 Hours….then VERY cold air into early next week-but dry weather.

The Very Long Range does show a change in the weather pattern for much milder weather as we head towards New Year’s Weekend.
